Responses to “Mommy Moments, Tantrums Tantrums”
When I read the comments on my Mommy Moments tag entry, I was happy and excited! Thank you so much for the support!
@ Upstate Mom of 3, You read my mind. We as parents, especially mothers love our kids so much and we don’t really want to get our children’s bad side, plus the fact that moms are always tired of house work and if you also have a career. This could be really trying for the moms. So, to fight stress or elude stress, we just give-in to the child’s tantrums.
@ Sweet_Shelo, I also have relapse like that on occasions, especially I work at home and US time, lack of sleep, stress from work will make you irritable. So the best solution is first, ask, what is the need, if it’s not important, give the child other options, then if it still doesn’t work, tell the child that he/she is disturbing someone who is sleeping if there is, it is also best to make the children aware of their surroundings because they are by nature selfish, they want things their own way, and the best way to teach them discipline is to make them aware of other people like Lolo or Lola or Auntie.
@ Rossel, thank you very much po!
@ Chubskulit, my children aren’t always an angel, the first times that they threw tantrum on me, even I threw tantrum on my husband -which also puts stress on the relationship because the husband doesn’t usually know what’s going on, unless they are aware of what’s happening around the house. So, I learned to observe my children, and taught them to communicate with me rather than cry out of nowhere. And it does help, because now that they are grown, they got used to being open with me and they tell me all their secrets.
