Responses to “Mommy Moments, Tantrums Tantrums”

When I read the comments on my Mommy Moments tag entry, I was happy and excited! Thank you so much for the support!

@ Upstate Mom of 3, You read my mind. We as parents, especially mothers love our kids so much and we don’t really want to get our children’s bad side, plus the fact that moms are always tired of house work and if you also have a career. This could be really trying for the moms. So, to fight stress or elude stress, we just give-in to the child’s tantrums.

@ Sweet_Shelo, I also have relapse like that on occasions, especially I work at home and US time, lack of sleep, stress from work will make you irritable. So the best solution is first, ask, what is the need, if it’s not important, give the child other options, then if it still doesn’t work, tell the child that he/she is disturbing someone who is sleeping if there is, it is also best to make the children aware of their surroundings because they are by nature selfish, they want things their own way, and the best way to teach them discipline is to make them aware of other people like Lolo or Lola or Auntie.

@ Rossel, thank you very much po! :)

@ Chubskulit, my children aren’t always an angel, the first times that they threw tantrum on me, even I threw tantrum on my husband -which also puts stress on the relationship because the husband doesn’t usually know what’s going on, unless they are aware of what’s happening around the house. So, I learned to observe my children, and taught them to communicate with me rather than cry out of nowhere. And it does help, because now that they are grown, they got used to being open with me and they tell me all their secrets. :D

Forgiveness cannot be hurried.

Lalaine: Forgiveness, like all other matter takes time. It’s better to give a long overdue forgiveness than giving a half-hearted one.

And I agree, at some extent you do not force it anyone, not even to yourself, because you owe yourself that time to heal. Learn that when a person is on the road to forgiving someone, you do not brag onto their faces, because you’re doing more damage than it should. And this is one thing that my best friend learned about me too, even though I forgive, I do not forget, but I do not rehearse.

One cannot forget, unless you got amnesia, had an operation and changed your brains, or worst -you got brain dead! Because saying that you “forget” is STUPID AND UNREALISTIC, and whoever says they forgot in this sense is a LIAR. Why lie to yourself?

proof

This is just a preview of the proof he is asking me, but it will be kept with me, because he has to remove his head from the sand, and I’m not going to waste my time sticking it out with a person who doesn’t know when to learn.

Ecclesiastes 3 A Time for Everything

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

a time for war and a time for peace.

22 So I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

Free Rice

Although not regularly, the government provides Rice to each students in elementary at our place. Teachers would distribute pink slips with the student’s name and how much kilos of rice they are to get.

I don’t have the copy of the pink slip anymore, but here’s our ration of rice.

This is Pres. Gloria Arroyo’s project for the urban poor. Food for School Program, free rice for the students. That’s a good way of spending people’s taxes.
