Quality Time & Movies

When you hear quality time, the first thing that comes to your mind is a family who shares bonding time together. Mine is on a different approach, since I’m husband less and doesn’t have the luxury of giving my children that kind of regular ritual with a dad, I chose to spend time with each alone. For instance, last Saturday, I brought my daughter to see G-Force. Actually, I already saw it on the internet and know each scene like the back of my hands, however, since my daughter finds more thrill on watching it on the big screen, so we did.

While the movie is being set-up, we saw a preview of Rain’s Ninja Assassin. Do you remember this guy from Full House? I think it’s a pretty nice movie for adults. Not for kids because of the very graphic display of blood and brutality.

Maybe my son would enjoy it, he’s fifteen and he’s a normal kid that likes to watch action movies, but with parental guidance of course. You know how kids nowadays are so impressionable. They think that what they see on TV also happens in reality.

Movies make a good profit because most of the scenes are now taken from a person’s experience and blended in with the fantasy, so a parent will only know the difference of what to take in and what to trash out.

Parents should know when to tell the kids where to draw the line. If parents aren’t careful, we ourselves will be a victim of these really carefully thought and almost real life so-called experiences of the protagonist in this movie. For example, some movies nowadays, portray a person who’s become a victim of injustice, like in the case of the movie Law Abiding Citizen, in the movie the guy was forced to take revenge (‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ Matthew 5:38 NIV). Parents should be careful enough to discern what kind of effect these will have on a child’s mindset.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Lazy post

I so need a full body massage *gah!*

My student commented that I looked more thinner than they first met me, she even asked if I had some sleep!

Anyway, I think I would like to enjoy a really nice movie than the G-force that I already saw on the Internet that my daughter insisted watching on the big screen and I think I enjoyed this trailer more.

I’ll put a more sensible post later after I’ve de-stressed.
